This programme aims to equip you with a comprehensive understanding of leadership and management.

You’ll learn to:

  • Explain leadership and distinguish it from management.
  • Apply leadership techniques to individuals and teams in the workplace.
  • Evaluate the impact of these techniques.
  • Motivate a team and understand both yourself and your team members.
  • Apply theories of motivation and group dynamics.
  • Strengthen a team through action plans, feedback, and recognition.
  • Manage tasks by creating, prioritising, and maintaining task lists and diaries.
  • Solve problems by defining, investigating, generating solutions, implementing them, and evaluating their effectiveness.

Why should I do this course?

This short course contributes to the FETC; Generic Management qualification.

This qualification lays the foundation for the development of management qualifications across various sectors and industries. It specifically develops management competencies required by learners in any occupation, particularly those who are currently operating as junior managers.

The qualification introduces key terms, rules, concepts, principles and practices of management that will enable learners to be informed managers in any occupation. It has also been developed to enable managers or prospective managers to access higher education and provide flexible access to life-long learning.

You’ll learn to:

Course Outline

Once your registration is complete, you will be added to our online learning system, giving you remote access to all learning guides and resources. Our online platform, Moodle, will support your learning journey by providing access to workshops, course materials, assessments, and podcasts covering key elements of the course.

Assessments 
Once all online theoretical assessments have been successfully completed, the student will have access to the FISA exam written at one of our campuses (JHB, CPT, DBN) Once this has been successfully completed an electronic Certificate of Completion will be provided.

International Comparability
Benchmarking was done by comparison to Unit Standards/Outcomes of learning against the Standards for Administration in:
Australia, Singapore, New Zealand, Europe

Learners accessing this Skills Programme should be competent in:

  • Communication at NQF level 3. (Grade 11 or National (vocational) Certificates level 3)
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF level 3. (Grade 11 or National (vocational) Certificates level 3)
  • Computer Literacy at NQF Level 3. (Grade 11 or National (vocational) Certificates level 3)
